Students across Jacksonville, Florida, will head into the new school year equipped for success, thanks to McCall Pest & Wildlife teammates.
The team officially kicked off their back-to-school backpack drive on June 22, collecting over 30 backpacks, each one filled with the promise of a brighter start for a student in need.
Teammates delivered backpacks to the City Rescue Mission Shelter, located just down the street from the Jacksonville service center. Teammates were inspired to support this organization because of its direct connection to the community they serve every day. The shelter provides a safe place for women and their children as they work to overcome difficult living situations and rebuild their lives. “The best part of this experience was seeing the children.” said Branch Manager, Sabrina Crowder. “Being able to bring them something that puts a smile on their faces makes all of the effort worthwhile.”
For many families, back-to-school season can bring added financial stress. This effort helps ease that burden, ensuring students not only have the supplies they need, but also the confidence to walk into the classroom ready to learn, grow, and thrive.
This is not the first time teammates have come together to support the City Rescue Mission Shelter; they donated Christmas gifts in December and hosted a Thanksgiving food drive in November.
Teammates hope these simple acts of kindness leave a lasting impact and serve as a reminder that when people come together, they can help shape a brighter future, one student at a time.
