With painful, itchy bites and a penchant for human blood, mosquitoes are signified as one of the world’s deadliest insects due to the diseases they can spread. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), mosquitoes cause millions of deaths globally each year from dangerous conditions like malaria, Zika, West Nile, dengue, chikungunya, and yellow fever – making them one of the biggest (yet smallest) pests out there.

At McCall Service, we understand that mosquitoes are more than just annoying pests, which is why our professional mosquito treatments are designed to significantly reduce the number of mosquitoes on your property – thereby decreasing exposure to the harm they can pose on you, your family, or your customers.

If malicious mosquitos are keeping you from enjoying quality time outdoors or driving your customers away, our professional pest control technicians are here to help!

What Attracts Mosquitoes to Your Area

Mosquitoes lay their eggs in water, meaning they are especially attracted to areas featuring marshes, lakes, or any sort of standing water (mosquitoes can lay their eggs in as little as 1.5 inches of water). Only female mosquitoes feed on humans, as they need blood in order to lay fertile eggs. Because most mosquitoes breed continuously, a female mosquito will search for blood meal sources every two days to lay new offspring. Both male and female mosquitoes are also attracted to nectar-rich flowers, as nectar is their main source of energy.

Surprisingly, certain factors can make a person more prone to mosquito bites. Wearing dark clothes or perfume are two main attractants for attacks. Other biological factors such as blood type, body temperature, and naturally occurring bacteria on the skin can also draw the attention of mosquitoes.

McCall Monthly Mosquito Treatments

In the U.S., mosquito bites have been known to spread diseases like West Nile virus, eastern equine encephalitis, and dengue fever – making it imperative to reduce mosquito populations near your home or business with our monthly mosquito treatments.

From March through November, our team of certified pest technicians will perform regular inspections of your land to determine areas that are conducive to breeding. Once inspections are completed, you will be informed of any items that need to be addressed to eliminate breeding areas.

For areas with standing water, our team will apply granular larvicide to eliminate any eggs present. Shrubs will also be treated with a power micro-sprayer to eliminate adult mosquito hideouts.

Mosquito Plus Service

Need additional mosquito prevention and protection? McCall is now proud to offer its Mosquito Plus service to all our customers. In addition to our traditional mosquito prevention plans, Mosquito Plus is a brand-new product that utilizes the In2Care system to revolutionize mosquito treatments around your home.

How does Mosquito Plus work?

Mosquito Plus combines the effectiveness of granular larvicides and powerful micro-sprayer services with eco-friendly stations from In2Care that kill Aedes mosquitoes in both the larvae and adult stages. When serviced monthly, these stations lure Aedes mosquitoes and contaminate them with a slow-killing larvicide. As mosquitoes continue to hit their regular breeding spots, they spread the larvicide.

In tandem to the larvicide, an adulticide kills the contaminated mosquito after a few days to prevent her from spreading viruses such as Dengue or Zika virus.

Where do you apply Mosquito Plus?

McCall can install the In2Care system around your shaded home, hotel, hospital, or other outdoor settings. The In2Care stations work best in areas with visible mosquito activity and vegetation.

How does In2Care differ from fogging?

In2Care stations offer targeted treatment for mosquitoes that is environmentally-friendly and non-disruptive to your daily outdoor activities. If insecticide use is restricted in your area, In2Care stations are a great alternative. When combined with our existing granular and micro-sprayer techniques, Mosquito Plus can help reduce your mosquito population significantly after only two to three weeks!
