Monthly Treatment May - October
Reduction Of Mosquito Population
Targeted Treatment For Breeding Areas & Adult Mosquitoes
With painful, itchy bites and a penchant for human blood, mosquitoes are signified as one of the world’s deadliest insects due to the diseases they can spread. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), mosquitoes cause millions of deaths globally each year from dangerous conditions like malaria, Zika, West Nile, dengue, chikungunya, and yellow fever – making them one of the biggest (yet smallest) pests out there.
At McCall Service, we understand that mosquitoes are more than just annoying pests, which is why our professional mosquito treatments can significantly reduce the number of mosquitoes on your property – thereby decreasing exposure to the harm they can pose on you, your family, or your customers.
Mosquitoes lay their eggs in water, meaning they are especially attracted to areas featuring marshes, lakes, or any sort of standing water (mosquitoes can lay their eggs in as little as 1.5 inches of water). Only female mosquitoes feed on humans, as they need blood in order to lay fertile eggs. Because most mosquitoes breed continuously, a female mosquito will search for blood meal sources every two days to lay new offspring. Both male and female mosquitoes are also attracted to nectar-rich flowers, as nectar is their main source of energy.
Surprisingly, certain factors can make a person more prone to mosquito bites. Wearing dark clothes or perfume are two main attractants for attacks. Other biological factors such as blood type, body temperature, and naturally occurring bacteria on the skin can also draw the attention of mosquitoes.
In the U.S., mosquito bites have been known to spread diseases like West Nile virus, eastern equine encephalitis, and dengue fever – making it imperative to reduce mosquito populations near your home or business with our monthly mosquito treatments.
From May through October, our team of certified pest technicians will perform regular inspections of your land to determine areas that are conducive to breeding. Once inspections are completed, you will be informed of any items that need to be addressed to eliminate breeding areas.
For areas with standing water, our team will apply granular larvicide to eliminate any eggs present. Shrubs will also be treated with a power micro-sprayer to eliminate adult mosquito hideouts.
Although eliminating an entire mosquito population may be impossible, treatments from McCall will significantly reduce the number of these biting bugs from your area. If you’re experiencing droves of mosquitoes in your yard or near your business, feel free to call McCall Service today for advanced pest control solutions that you can trust.
