You're tough. I know you are. You're not going to let a few cockroaches ruffle your feathers. Sure, they're disgusting. But roaches are just a fact of life, just like mosquitoes--or black flies if you live in the North East. What can you do?

That's exactly what those cockroaches want you to think! They want you to think that living with them is inevitable. They want you to think that it's no big deal. That's why they hope you'll never find out these 8 facts about them. Because, if you did, you would never allow yourself to live with them again.

  1. According to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, 78 to 98 percent of urban homes have cockroach infestations from 900 to 330,000. Do you know anyone with that many cockroaches in their house? That's because they don't see them. And, neither do you. Roaches are thigmotropic. That means they like something hard touching their bodies, preferably on all sides. So they aren't inclined to be out in the middle of the kitchen floor. They'd rather be squeezed inside a wall with hundreds of other roaches.

  2. The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America has also scientifically linked cockroaches to Asthma. If cockroach skin and feces are left in air ventilation ducts, allergens can become airborne.

  3. The CDC has determined that cockroaches can carry salmonella typhimurium, entamoeba histolytica, and the poliomyelitis virus.

  4. Cockroaches are attracted to dirty, bacteria-infested areas, and feed on feces. When they enter homes, they spread this bacteria to silverware, plates, cups, counters, and food packages. Symptoms of bacterial illness are: stomach cramps, fever, vomiting, diarrhea, and dizziness.

  5. If you put your children down with food on their lips or their clothing, cockroaches will be attracted.

  6. If you sleep with your mouth open, roaches will be drawn to take a drink from the moisture in your mouth.

  7. Cockroaches bite. It is rare, but they do. And, it is unpleasant.

  8. You don't have to live with them. Although roaches can scale vertical surfaces with ease, they can be fully excluded from your home or business. There are some factors that play into this, like the levels of cockroach infestations around your property, and sanitation within, but it can be done.

Don't live with cockroaches. Call a professional pest management company and get your walls sealed today. You don't have to put up with these disgusting, illness-spreading bugs anymore. That's the truth.
