Ants
Ants are the most common pest problem reported and often one of the most difficult to treat due to the size of their colonies. In a single colony there may be thousands of ants existing and a single property may contain multiple colonies
Bed Bugs
Bed bugs have largely been thought of as being a problem of the past. The truth, however, is that bed bugs are making a strong comeback. One of the major reasons for such a strong reappearance is because of the increase in international travel and the prevalence of mass transit
Caterpillars
Caterpillars are actually the larvae stage of butterflies and moths and appear in many sizes and colors depending on the species. Most caterpillars have tubular, segmented bodies and up to eight pairs of legs. They have a tendency to chew on foliage and may cause severe damage to plants and shrubs.
Chinch Bugs
Chinch bugs are considered to be the most important pest of St. Augustine grass in Florida. Adults are 1/5" long and black with white patches on their wings. The nymphs range from 1/20" to nearly adult size. They are reddish with a white band across their backs but become black as they mature.
Cockroaches
There are over 4,000 different varieties of cockroaches, but only about thirty of them can comfortably live with humans. This number can be further reduced to include only four varieties that cause problems in homes and businesses in the US and they are the American, German, Asian and Oriental.
Drywood Termites
Drywood termites generally live (feed and nest) in un-decayed wood which has very low moisture content. Unlike subterranean termites, they do not require any contact with the soil in order to live. Thus, they can seriously damage movable wooden objects such as furniture.
Flies
True flies have only one set of wings and have a rapid rate of growth, going from egg to adult in about seven days. There are more than 240,000 different species of flies in the world. Approximately one third of them, including mosquitoes and gnats can be found in the US.
Mole Crickets
Four species of mole crickets occur in Florida: the northern mole cricket, the short-winged mole cricket, the tawny mole cricket, and the southern mole cricket. The southern and the tawny are the most prevalent. Adults are about 1-1/2" long, light-brown, and have forelegs well adapted for tunneling through the soil.
Mosquitoes
Mosquitoes (from the Portuguese meaning "small fly") are a common flying insect in the family Culicid that is found around the world. There are about 3,500 species of mosquitoes. They have a pair of scaled wings, a pair of halteres, a slender body, and six long legs. Mosquitoes go through four stages in their life cycle: egg, larva, pupa, and adult.
Rodents
The class of "rodents" actually encompasses a lot more than just mice and rats. It refers to any animal whose incisor teeth continue to grow so they must continue to gnaw in order to keep them under control. This group includes mice, rats, squirrels, capybaras, nutria, chipmunks, prairie dogs and many more.
Spiders
Most species are harmless and are merely considered a nuisance when they leave behind unsightly webs. However there are species that may bite with a result that can be compared to a wasp or bee sting. In some people an allergic reaction to the venom can occur and/or medical attention may be required.
Stinging Insects
While the sting itself from these insects is not usually terribly painful, a serious problem can arise if you have an allergic reaction to the sting. For that reason, stinging insects can prove to be a dangerous pest.
Stored Product Pests
Stored product pests, also known as pantry pests, are a group of insects that feed on flour, cereals, and dog food as well as other dry, stored food items. Most do not cause damage other than the contamination of food products.
Subterranean Termites
Subterranean termites are social insects that live in colonies consisting of many individuals. The colonies are composed of workers, soldiers and reproductives. The workers, which are about 1/8 inch long, have no wings, are white to cream colored and very numerous. Soldiers defend the colony against insects, like ants, that can attack the colony
